Baik, dengan background Diploma Kejuruteraan Mekanikal dan pengalaman teknisyen, kau sebenarnya dah berada separuh jalan untuk masuk ke line vessel / offshore. Tapi sebelum naik kapal, ada laluan wajib dan beberapa sijil penting yang kena kau selesaikan dulu.
Langkah 1 — Faham Laluan Masuk ke Industri Kapal (Marine / Offshore Support)
Untuk teknisyen mekanikal, posisi paling sesuai dalam industri ni termasuk:
- Mechanical Technician (Vessel / FPSO / Offshore Platform)
- Maintenance Technician (Marine / Utility)
- Rotating Equipment Technician (Pump, Compressor, Turbine)
- Engine Room Assistant / Motorman (Marine Vessel)
- Mechanical Crew – Support for Hook-Up & Commissioning (HUC)
Kapal yang biasa ambil mekanikal tech ni termasuk OSV (Offshore Support Vessel), AHTS (Anchor Handling Tug Supply), Accommodation Work Barge (AWB), dan Maintenance Vessel.
Langkah 2 — Kursus & Sijil Wajib Sebelum Boleh Naik Kapal
- META Offshore Operations Certificate
(rujuk gambar kursus “Fundamentals Offshore Operations”)
– Belajar keseluruhan operasi laut:- Module 1: Upstream Fundamentals
- Module 2: Exploration & Drilling Operations
- Module 3: Offshore Projects (Structure & EPCC Execution)
- Module 4: Production & Decommissioning
Kursus ni penting untuk faham keseluruhan kerja atas pelantar, kapal & support base.
- META API 570 – Piping Inspection Fundamentals
– Untuk faham sistem paip, flange, dan pressure vessel di kapal / platform.
– Paling sesuai sebab kau dari bidang mekanikal — API 570 ni bagi kau advantage bila kerja maintenance atas vessel. - META Resume & Job Apply Workshop
– Ajar cara tulis resume & email apply kerja yang recruiter O&G nak tengok.
– Kau akan belajar guna keyword betul: “offshore mechanical maintenance”, “rotating equipment”, “marine piping system”, “API 570 awareness”.
Langkah 3 — Target Company yang Operate Vessel / OSV (Offshore Support Vessel)

Kebanyakan company ni operate kapal AHTS, PSV, barge, tug, crewboat & accommodation vessel — jadi memang ambil teknisyen mekanikal untuk engine, compressor, pump & piping maintenance.
